transportation-associated disorders, dehydration, or weariness as a result of
reduced feed consumption and energy cost. After 12 hours of transportation,
horses stabled for at least eight hours and needed to be taken out of the
vehicle/trailer. This period is essential for rehydration and tracheal
clearance.
